Verizon Unveils Actual 5G Network Coverage

Verizon has been aggressive about rolling out its blazing-fast 5G network, and now the carrier has come up with details of its 5G covered regions- much to the relief of the end-users. The company has published the maps of its 5G network. The people using it’s Sims and staying in these areas can access the web at lightning speeds, often reaching the threshold of 1 GBps. Recently Verizon launched the 5G network in regions like Sioux Falls, Boston, Houston. By the end of the year, the coverage is expected to go up. As of now, Verizon is offering a 5G network in 18 cities, which will be 30 by the end of 2019.

While the company is going gaga over the super-fast speed of its 5G network, the industry observers are a tad skeptical about the claims. The areas in South Dakota, Houston, Sioux Falls are only partly covered by the new network. So, chances are there; the users will see fluctuation in actual network speed when they are in these regions. This will be more the case when they are on the move. In Wicker Park, Chicago, Verizon covers the major arteries by 5G network but skips the more residential avenues in between. The residents of Wicker Park may see red eventually!

While the 5G network coverage of Verizon is far from massive or extensive, it has improved for sure. Verizon’s 5G tech uses millimeter-wave, and it is a new technology. So, users with more modern smartphones and tablets will be able to reap the benefits fully. The millimeter-wave tech does not penetrate buildings, and that can lead to spotty coverage even in the areas where the 5G network is present. If you can manage to get the coverage, hitting 1 GBps is undoubtedly possible. Verizon is still ahead of its rivals in terms of 5G network coverage. Sprint has maps covering only nine cities, while T-Mobile includes only six so far. Arch rival AT&T is yet to roll out its 5G network.

Study says that the rate of anal cancer is climbing high in the US

In the United States, the cases of anal cancer and death are increasing dramatically, especially among older people and young black men, according to a new study. Researchers have explored trends in anal cancer cases over about 15 years, and have identified about 69,000 cases of anal cancer and 12,000 death cases caused by anal cancer. From 2001 to 2015, the cases of the most familiar type of anal cancer have grown by 2.7% every year, while death cases caused by anal cancer have increased by 3.1% per year from 2001 to 2016. In the National Cancer Institute’s journal, this study was published. Doctor Virginia Shaffer, who is the colorectal surgeon and associate professor at Emory University’s Winship Cancer Institute, has said that this study provides numbers to a trend that seems to be happening over the last decade. The lead author of this study, Ashish A. Deshmukh, has said that the finding of the startling rise in occurrence among the black millennials and white women is rising.

Following the US centers for disease control and prevention, more than 90% of the cases of anal cancers are connected with HPV. Anal cancer arrives at the end of the digestive tract. It is different from rectal or colon cancer, and it is most similar to the characteristics of cervical cancer. The most prevalent subtype of anal cancer is squamous cell carcinoma that is caused by the human papillomavirus, also known as HPV. Screening of anal cancer accomplished for some high-risk groups, but the study authors disputed their findings and suggested broader screening efforts should be considered.

The study has found that cases of anal cancer have increased in people aged 50 and over. It is because HPV vaccine guidelines are very narrow and limiting protection for older people. In 2006, when the HPV vaccine was first introduced, it was allowed for people within the age group of 9 to 26, so there was a large number of people who missed the vaccine. The study also has discovered the amount of advanced-stage cases is increasing, and this is because the treatment for HIV has improved.

A new finding scientists claim to spot insects on Mars

On Mars, there are no robot legs, no thigh bones, or no reptiles that are running around eating the Martian insects. Surely, there is something weird that is going on with the methane and probably even with the oxygen, but there is not a lot happening for life on Mars. Entomologist William Romoser, who is the professor of Ohio University, has presented a research poster at an Entomological Society of America this week that claims to find out some pieces of evidence of life on Mars. Ohio University has issued a press release on Romoser’s research this Tuesday, which got titled as Ohio entomologist: Photos show proof of being on Mars.

These poster presentations supposed to be less formal than peer-examined papers that were published in scientific journals. Romoser’s posters made some bold claims, and the entomologist describes an insect-like creature that appears on Mars. Romoser has presented a series of annotated images as evidence, the Mars rovers of NASA captured that. He suggested that show fossilized and surviving forms of life, including a reptilian creature preying on a beast like an insect. The images are blurry but yet show some of the many rocks on the Martian landscape. Pareidolia, the human propensity to see recognizable structures in random forms, maybe the most likely exposition in this perspective. For some alien enthusiasts, who enjoy looking by the NASA Mars images for familiar objects, it is a collective illusion for them.

Mars pareidolia may be a fun element. Still, the press release of Ohio University provides a sense of legitimateness to the claims of Romoser, though it is not the first foray of Romoser into such concepts that are related to Mars. He also has issued two reports that applications to find out the evidence of undisclosed aerial phenomena on Mars, and he also has suggested that this may mean the existence of intelligent life forms on the sterile planet. The Mars rovers of NASA have a long history of research, but they have got no evidence of the existence of life on MARS.

Malaria fighting soup, a school experiment leads to discovering about homemade cures

This experiment started as a project for National Science Week at a British primary school. Malaria researcher Jake Baum could teach the children the distinctions between the herbal remedy and the authentic medicines. Sixty incredibly different soups were brought in this school. Children of Eden Primary school that was attended by Jake Baum’s son Gilly and daughter Rudy caters to families from across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. All were guessed to be broth-based vegetarian, meat, or chicken soups that the family had passed down by the generations on account of their therapeutic qualities.  Baum said the kids bought in the lumpiest soups, and this idea was to try and get some clear extract from it. Working with the children, Baum was capable of filtering successfully 56 types of soups that he took back to the lab to test the medicinal properties.

Baum and his team at the Department of Life Science at Imperial College study the rarest species of the malaria parasite, known as P. falciparum that is responsible for 99% of deaths caused by malaria.  In 2017, according to the World Health Organization, there were an allotted 219 million cases of disease dispatched by infected mosquitoes in 2017, affecting 87 countries. In 2017 there were about 435,000 deaths. Baum said that every year, nearly half a million children die from malaria that is transmitted by the infected mosquitoes. The frontline antimalarial drugs, known as artemisinin-based combination therapies or ACT, are starting to lose their efficiency as the parasite evolves resistance.

At first, Baum and his team did not plan to carry out all the 56 tests as no one expected that a bowl of soup can kill a malaria parasite. Baum said that one of the most effective soups was a vegetarian soup, and it was a bowl of fermented cabbage soup and also added that people say a lot about kimchi and other fermented cabbages, so maybe there is something like that in this soup. Baum published the result of this soup project on Monday in the journal BMJ.

Bytedance to Make a Foray into Music Streaming With Own App

Music streaming is no doubt a lucrative segment, and more contenders are joining the bandwagon. ByteDance -a Chinese venture which owns the popular service Tiktok is all set to make a foray into this sector. It is aiming at established rivals like Spotify and Apple. The company is reportedly in talks with the big names in the industry such as Warner Music, Sony Music, and Universal Music. It is eyeing global licensing deals to get their songs in its upcoming music subscription service, as per the industry sources. Bytedance, however, is yet to make any official statement on the topic.

The $75bn technology company, with headquarters in Beijing, wants to launch the streaming service next month. However, the service may be launched in a few countries at the beginning, and later it will roll out in the other markets. The countries that will get it before the others include Indonesia, Brazil, and India. The company will likely try to offer the users something unique. It may provide user-generated content, which has made Tiktok so popular globally. TikTok’s popularity in social media challenges the supremacy of other established social media platforms like Snapchat.

It is not yet clear how ByteDance is going to name its app and what the pricing will be like. However, its service will likely cost the users less than what Apple or Spotify charges. The app is expected to come with a collection of searchable and short length video clips, and these can be synced with songs. These can then be shared with other users. It remains to be seen if the company can repeat the success of Tiktok with the yet to be launched streaming service. The popularity of streaming services like YouTube Music, Pandora, Spotify, and Amazon Prime Music needs no elaboration. Not all users would like to switch to a new contender-unless they find something unique and compelling in it. In India, ByteDance’s upcoming app will have to battle it out with services like JioSaavn, Wynk Music, and Gaana along with global rivals.

NASA’s Mars Rover breathes a new mysterious oxygen

NASA’s Mars Rover breathes a new mysterious oxygen

According to NASA, it is challenging to elucidate why oxygen is being created and then used on the Red Planet. The time US space agency has come through this fact, they have been scratching their heads collectively. The main reason behind everyone being puzzled is that Curiosity Rover of NASA, which is horrifying on Mars, has come back with some new data to our Earth, which shows that a high level of methane was noted, but NASA is still answerless and cannot explain why this happened. Several tests were made and finished to search out the primary reason behind the high methane level. Unfortunately, NASA could not find out the cause.

Curiosity Rover of NASA breathes in the air on the Red Planet, examines it, and reveals everything to NASA, including the types of gases detected on the planet. However, something interesting that was discovered on Earth was that the background levels of some gases decreases and increases according to the seasonal changes; something similar was experienced on Mars. Curiosity detected n during breathing that most of the gas found in Mars is carbon dioxide, and the left out 5% gas is the mixture of argon, carbon monoxide, oxygen, and nitrogen. These gases were plotted for 12 months by NASA. In that time, scientists notice some irregularities in the oxygen amount when its comparison was made with the other gases found on Mars.

According to NASA, a scientist has done a lot of research, and they conclude that both argon and nitrogen follow an expected season pattern, increasing and decreasing in absorption in Gale Crater all for 12 months comparing how much carbon dioxide is present in the atmosphere. A scientist expected the same in case of oxygen. But it wasn’t the case. On the contrary, the gas amount was seen rising throughout the summer and spring season by 30% but then declined to the predicted level during fall.

Americans don’t realize the dementia risk that they deal with

Researchers have identified some risk factors that affect the likelihood of inspiring one or more types of dementia. Some of these factors can modify, while some elements are not modifiable. The risk of vascular dementia and several other dementias goes up significantly with the advancing age. Research suggests many people did not understand the link between physical and mental health and how communal differences can affect dementia risk. New research suggests that many senior citizens of America may inaccurately calculate their chances of developing dementia and do worthless things to prevent it. Almost half of the adults surveyed believed that they were likely to develop dementia.

Embodied numbers of people who rated their health as fair or poor, thought that their dementia chances were lower. At the same time, many people who said that they were in absolutely excellent health conditions meant that they were likely to exhibit the memory-robbing disease. Though some factors of dementia are not possible to modify still research has shown that regular exercise, a healthy and balanced diet, limiting alcohol, and quitting smoking can make dementia less likely. Many people have said that they have tried some memory protecting methods, but the most effective way was to solve crossword puzzles, and it is shown that supplements are not so useful to deal with dementia.

Dr. Donovan Maust, who is the study’s lead author and a geriatric psychiatrist at the University of Michigan, has stated that they have not done enough of getting the word out that whether there are things that can lower the risk of dementia. The study was published this Friday in the JAMA Neurology, and it was based on a nationally representative health survey of a thousand adults who are aged between 50-64. This survey asked to assess their likelihood of improving dementia and whether they had ever discussed ways to prohibit it with the help of the doctor. The new study used information from the University of Michigan National Poll on the Healthy aging process.

The return of Motorola’s iconic ‘Razr.’

The return of Motorola’s iconic ‘Razr.’
Motorola's iconic ‘Razr.’

The modified model of the most iconic model of Motorolla The ‘Razr’ is rumored for a few months. And honestly, such a product is a bit of a no-brainer. The Lenovo acquired company is adopting the growing world of foldable phones with a comeback with its most popular and successful model. Although the recent models of Motorola didn’t work out, the company has kept the name of Razr alive in this era of Android. The look of the new updated Razr looks quite good. The product was announced recently in Los Angeles, but the phone faced some criticism that the model was just inspiring and had the same old design.
According to the executives of Motorola, the company has been experimenting with flexible technology for a few years. In a press conference, a statement released that ‘In 2016, a team which consisted of designers & engineers from both Lenovo & Motorola was brought together to start the research and development on flexible display technology.’ The vertical structure of the new ‘Razr’ looks perfect, but it misses the ultra-thin design that made the old Razr model famous many years back. The original ‘Razr’ had a 6.2-inch ultra-wide screen, which was compact enough to fit in the pocket. As know Motorola has traded off the design with Samsung, the Galaxy Fold has a small display on the screen for getting an indication of the notifications. This is another feature which replicates the original Razr. Probably, the device runs on Android 9, to be exact. There is also another model called the “Retro Razr,” that imitates the old metallic button design at the bottom of the display screen. This feature is extremely useful with the Messaging application of Android. Motorola is undoubtedly enthusiastic about the design of its phones and puts a lot of efforts into implementing it. If nothing else works, the new Razr would surely prove that it’s just a breath of fresh air of nostalgia.
After the whole incidents over the bustles with Samsung, it is likely to raise a question against the durability of the phone, Although Motorola says it’s not too much concerned, about quoting the average timespan for the device. It will only be known when the product is available in the market and used. Similar to the price of Fold, the price is pretty too high for this first-generation product. To any mainstream adoption for this first-generation product. The Razr will be officially announced in next January.

The link between vanished giant ape and Orangutan
giant ape

We have seen a giant ape in many movies and heard about the same in many mythological stories. But giant ape is extinct from this earth. Scientists and researchers are doing a study on giant gapes. By using the technique of genetic sequencing scientist and researchers found some genetic information of 1.8-million-year old extinct giant ape species, which used to live in the tropical region of China. The name of the species is Gigantopithecus blacki. These species apes were 3 to 4 meters tall and 600-700 kg. And this similar to an orangutan. This is the first time when such information is received from the warm and humid part of china. This information is published in the scientific journal Nature. And the results are innovative in the field of biology.
One of the researches of this study Frido Welker, said, “primates are close to humans. With this study, it is clear that by using a method of protein sequencing, we can retrieve the information of our ancient primates. Up this point, humans retrieve the information of only 10,000year-old species fossils od humid and warm area. This critical because most of the human ancestors, like homo sapiens, used to live in a warm subtropical region. This means; similarly, we can retrieve the information of human evolution. We know that there is a link between humans and chimpanzees, and the chimpanzees are 7 to 8 million years old. But humans only retrieve genetic information up to 400,000 years of evolution. So by using this method, we can found genetic information about human history older than 2 to 3 million years.
One of the important members of this study and Associate Professor at Globe Institute, Mr. Enrico Cappellini with his international team demonstrated this study. In that, they showed a dental enamel sample of Gigantopithecus Species. By doing protein sequencing on this sample they found that there is a link between giant apes and orangutans.
